The Challenge
A basic piece of equipment used by every laboratory and Research and Development department, microplates store samples of fluids such as blood for testing DNA.
A perfectly-fitting lid enables the technician to inject each cell individually within the microplate.
Quality is vitally important; the cells and the lid must be moulded flawlessly to ensure that fluids remain separate within the individual cell.
Porvair was looking for a supplier who could offer complete services including ultrasonic welding facilities, design ability and a clean room.
The Solution
The technical team at Europlaz developed a range of tooling with interchangeable inserts to produce the microplates and lids in a range of three different sizes, helping Porvair to cut costs.
Cutting-edge machinery together with quality control checks helped to produce a perfect fit every time.
The Verdict
If the microplates aren't perfect then the results of any test will be flawed. The first-class facilities at Europlaz convinced us that they were the right people for the job.
In fact, we're so pleased with the results that we have asked Europlaz to produce other equipment for Porvair.
